Any idea when we will be able to have a responsive shop page? Thanks
We are currently planning our approach for this. We will update this thread when we start working on the feature but we do not have a time-scale we can give just yet. We'll keep you posted as this is a high priority on our road map.
Yes, Us retailers desperately need the shop feature updated to match the rest of our website!
I am currently having to re-direct my customers to the outdated shop widget, which looks highly un-professional.
I think as the shop widget it one of Moonfruits top features listed in the packages, this should have been one of the first features to be converted!
Quite disappointed on the timescale this is taking, considering myself and thousands of others are paying for the Maximum package.
Hi, we do hope to start work on implementing a responsive shop solution soon. We are currently focusing on trying to get the responsive page feature to a level where it can be taken out of beta, but the shop work is planned next. There is backend work that can affect how we order the features we work on. We will hopefully have more details on this in April.
Totally agree, shop is lacking many things , please find the time ASAP.
Would love this feature
Currently going through the process of making my whole site responsive. This is the only bit lacking at the moment!
Hi Moonfruit,It's just a thought, but has Ecwid been considered? I know they offer a white label package which you guys could use, and I believe this is actually what Wix currently offer to their ecommerce customers. Thanks!
We have started work on implementing our responsive shop solution! We have decided to team up with Shoprocket - you can check our their site to read up on the type of features that are available so far (they also have a public roadmap where you can see what they are working on soon). We have decided to use a 3rd party, as they are already dedicated to creating a great eCommerce product, which means we save time and are able to focus on other parts of the editor. We have been thinking about how to offer this and we think we would like to have it as an add on, so anyone who would like a shop can purchase this add on for their plan. The shop will be configured totally within the editor. Please do let us know if you have any thoughts about this!
Like most of your other 3rd party widgets and add on's will this again be another thing we will have to pay extra for?
If this is the case, please let me know as soon as possible, so that I can start to transfer my websites on to another provider.
The Shoprocket feature will be an add-on which would be paid for separately to your Moonfruit subscription if you'd like to use it. This is not an uncommon approach with website builders, however, I'm sorry if this does not suit your needs.
No this does not suit my needs...
I need a MAX package that actually gives me a MAX package. Which was sold to me as having the shop features included in that package.
This is extremely disappointing that I have been waiting all this time for you to produce a responsive version of the shop only to be told i will have to pay extra on top of the £25.00 a month fee!
Starting to sound like you can not be bothered to put the effort in to update your current shop format and supply what you have been selling, and still advertising selling in the MAX package.
I posted this to another user, but I'm reposting it here to ensure you see the response.
This will be an add-on charged separately to your Moonfruit subscription because it is an app provided by another company (Shoprocket) that we are making available to users who would like a responsive shop for their site. As I mentioned before, we are using a 3rd party as our responsive shop solution because they are fully dedicated to creating a great eCommerce product. This offers benefits to a lot of users, as it means that we are able to offer a better responsive shop option much more quickly and there is more chance of regular updates to the shop functionality.
If you would prefer to not purchase the add-on will still be able to use the shop offered by us before, so we will be honouring what you were offered in your plan. You would need to add a v6 template where you can also add responsive pages if you'd like. We are currently reviewing our website plans, but the Shoprocket app will remain as an add-on.
Hi Moonfruit!Wonderful news! You've not half cheered up my day. I do have a couple of questions though:You mention this being a "paid add-on", how does this impact us resellers? Will access to shop function be included in our package as they're a "premium/max" package so to speak, or will we have to pay an additional fee for each individual shop for each of our clients? If we do have to pay extra, will this be a one-off, or recurring? And will the shop function be available at any sort of reduced bulk buy rate for resellers? Thanks a million! Away to have a nosy at Shoprocket!
Hi, sorry for the delay in responding,
The Shoprocket add on would be a separate subscription that would run separately to your Moonfruit subscription. Let me find out if there is a different approach for resellers or the potential of a discounted rate for those on reseller packages. I will get back to you on this.
Did you take a look at their features? What did you think?
I have read about shoprocket somewhere on the review website, people saying that it is not comfortable, to edd/edit your products you will need to do this in both moonfruit and shoprocket editors. Unfortunately cannot find the link, sorry. If someone interested to see how it works, you can try http://start.imcreator.com/themes?mr=true, they use shoprocket.
I would stress that our implementation of Shoprocket and the way it will work will differ to IM Creator, so please bear this in mind if using that as a reference to look at the functionality. The way you add/edit products is likely to be different.I'm not sure where you saw this information, but as I mentioned before, you should be able to fully configure your Shoprocket shop in Moonfruit directly. Thanks
Hello,Any news? Features look great on shoprocket! Look forward to seeing it in use.It would be good if you could give us a rough estimate of how much extra this is going to cost. I noticed their "lite" package is $7(~£5.40) per month, which is reasonable - although nothing seems to clarify if this includes VAT or not.Do you know if the "package" that will be offered to Moonfruit customers will be most similar to their Lite or Pro offerings? Thanks!
Hi, yet again message been "on moderation" for a week. Can someone get back to me please? Would also like to know a rough idea when the shop function will be available, so I cant start planning how to deal with eCommerce clients and hopefully move away from EcwidThanks!
Hi, I'm really sorry for the delay in response - I have been away.
We aren't able to confirm the exact prices/plans we will be offering for this add-on just yet, as some of the details are still being confirmed. We will let you know as soon as this information as soon as possible. We're really glad you're pleased with their features :)
Hi. Thanks for getting back to me. Can you answer my other question though: do we have a rough time scale for when the shop facility will be available? Thanks
Roughly, we hope for this to be available by the end of July.
July has been and gone... Any update on a timescale for this?
Hi,It has been confirmed that at the moment there is no discount available for bulk buying, however, this is something we may look into in the future.
why should this be a paid add-on to those who pay for the maximum package, you are going backwards here, its not fair to expect those who pay a lot for what once included a shop and now for it to be taken away, not happy at all. We've been waiting months for this to be done and then you hit us with a "you must pay more" unacceptable. You are not looking after your long term customers here who have loyally stuck by you through various hiccups and now this. Whether it is common approach by other software companies, you still need to honour what you charge customers for already. Will there now be a discount on the subscription if we have to pay elsewhere for a piece of software that clearly is not yours and you couldn't do?
I'm sorry for the delay in responding to you - I have been away. Just for anyone else waiting excitedly for the shop ad on, i've been playing about with it on the shoprocket site and its really great! I understand everything will be managed from within our moonfruit accounts, but really love how Shoprocket control panel is set out, so v excited to see it go live with moonfruit!Give us an update when you can team moonfruit :D
I am terribly disappointed. the shop is not
working for us and i may end up moving our site from you guys because of it. we
make sales and we do not get notifications, which is not on. do you expect to
have this changed soon at all?
Hi, the shop that is available on the older version of our software is different to the shop I am referring to here. We are planning on offering a new online store for responsive pages, which is the latest version of our software. When this is available, it will be possible for you to recreate your website and store if you would prefer to use this integration. If your shop is currently not working, please contact our support team.
Hi everyone, I wanted to update you on our Shoprocket plans as we did hope that this would be ready by around now.
There have been some changes made to our plans for the Shoprocket integration. The integration can't currently support multiple shops per user account and so we are no longer planning on offering the shoprocket feature as an add-on. We will initially be making the responsive shop available to users who subscribe to our new Ecommerce plan. Existing users will be able to change their plan via the pricing page if they'd like to add a shop to their personal site when this is available. We expect to be able to launch this integration at the end of August/beginning of September. Most of the work has been done, we are doing the final tidy ups before the work will be tested and reviewed. This will be the 1st iteration of this integration, and we will work to add more improvements after it is live.
We would like to express again that this integration is subject to change as we continue development and we cannot confirm all of the exact details until we are ready to release this new feature, but we will keep you updated with any important changes.Let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy your weekends!
how much longer is this going to take? This really is becoming a pain now. We were promised a solution back 7 months ago. yet nothing has come about!
Update: The Shoprocket integration has been through a round of testing and some issues were found. Those issues are in the process of being fixed now and then another round of testing will be completed (which shouldn't take long) before it can be released and made available to you all (this month I hope). If anyone has any specific questions about this before the release, please do get in touch.
Please update everyone!
This is a much needed update to your site. As paying customers/business owners, we are looking for a great deal and a great product for our shops.
Hi all, Just to update everyone - the Shoprocket integration is now in its second round of testing. Unless we come across any other issues we're looking to release this very soon. Thanks for your patience - we will of course post here as soon as we have an update.
Will this still be unavailable to resellers on release?
Hi, Because the shop integration will be available only on the new Ecommerce plans, unfortunately not at this stage. However this may change after the first iteration, as we look to add further improvements.
Will this be before Christmas? And will I have to pay extra? I've been a member of Moonfruit for years, if I have to pay any extra for a shop, which I originally signed up for, I'll be going elsewhere.
Quick update: We're looking at a couple of weeks until the Shoprocket integration is ready to be released.
It's been 3 months since you replied saying it was going to be a couple of weeks.... how far away are we now???
Hi I was told a few weeks ago, it would be end of April for the shop and end of year for the blog, hope that helps
Hello, is there an update please?
Hi Simon, I followed this up 2 weeks ago & here is the reply "Unfortunately I have no precise timeline to share at the moment for the Responsive shop" - !!!
Aren't you at all embarrassed or ashamed by this Moonfruit?
I gotta say... I call BS it's being released on Monday.
You are stringing us along for fools and really should be reported en masse to trading standards for investigation.
What's your opinion, Moonfruit?
Oh my god, really Moonfruit. Do you see how many downvotes your comment got 6 months ago. You literally said a couple of weeks to full implementation. You've sold plans to customers that marketed a working shop for them. Flash is legacy tech that is being phased out completely, so the V6 editor shop is not a viable option. This leaves Responsive as the only available solution you provide that will be somewhat future-proof. Now you have removed the shop that you marketed when we bought these plans. Now you are failing at delivering and implementing a shop that doesn't work on legacy tech that's being killed off. I would hope you guys feel terribly ashamed, but by the way I'm being treated in chat support this is no surprise. No one from Moonfruit is going to come in here and tell any of us customers anything.
I've come to the conclusion that Moonfruit have basically no reason to care about us. Loads of people joined Moonfruit years ago and just continued to host with them. They did the work to set the site up in the past and now they have a consistent income they're happy with, there's no a reason to bother to improve things any more. Sucks we have to move... There was a time they were very good. :(
100% agree with both of you! This is now un-acceptable. I host 11 websites with moonfruit, and I am very very tempted to move to another supplier. This needs to be fixed soon! What is their issue? Why couldn't the just convert their old shop system into responsive? Surely that would have been easier and more cost effective for both them and us?
MF are letting us down. I'm so disappointed. I've been with them for so long :( Now looking at other providers. Scared of the devil I don't know...
Yes, I know what you mean. But I just can't go on with MF. They are SO far behind the other web builders like Wix that I just have to move.
There was a time MF was good; ahead of the game even... But that was a long, long time ago now unfortunately.
I've cancelled my MF subscription and gone with Jimdo. Theyget good customer service reviews, have full GDPR compliant functionality, SSL, and they have a shop with all their pricing plans. They've been nice to correspond with so far. I'm nearly done building my new site, so it's been fairly quick to learn my way around. There's lots of info provided on their blog and in their tutorials. I hated leaving MF after being with them for so long, but it seems like Yell only bought them so that they could run them into the ground :(
Development and communication seems to have stalled here of late. 50 product maximum (down from previous years & unannounced), extra charge for HTTPS security (really?! given that google will downgrade a site without it.) & no sign of the promised Shoprocket integration. I am currently looking at ways of moving the many clients's sites that I have brought to you in recent years to other platforms. Such a shame after so many years (18 in many identities). No posts on Facebook since January 2018. Any hope to offer?
Just move away. It's extremely irritating to have to move away and they know that. It means that a lot of people don't, so they have a consistent revenue stream with a skeleton staff of 1 playing Fortnite. Even if that revenue stream is decreasing, they don't care. It's in yearly profit so there's no need to improve it. Trying to improve it to keep up with the likes of Wix would cost too much and be too much work for them to bother.
is there a way to add a shopping page??
