HTML5/V6/Responsive is not supported on iPads or iPhones - WHAT!!! This is official MF feedback

Keef 2 years ago 0

I accept responsive code is in Beta, my guess is it always will be as from a support perspective it gives MF an easy cop-out for almost any issue i.e it is NOT SUPPORTED

However when I asked about earlier development versions and why as so much has been made of websites being able to run on tablet & phones (indeed responsive views show this!!!) I was told safari (apples standard browser) for mobile & tablet was NOT SUPPORTED

Am I alone in thinking this is unacceptable?

Here is the exchange with MF... sorry the nhistory is a bit long but it is there to illustrate the current quality of customer support.... We pay for this service!

Hi there,

Yes, your site will work in tablet as well and yes safari browser will not be supported in iphone and in ipad as well.

Thank you

In the words of one John McEnroe “you cannot be serious”

Hello Keef,

Thank you for being patient with this.

We took a deep dive of your issue and apparently our products do not support Puffin browser.

The V6 version of the editor and website also known as HTML5 is compatible with the following browsers: Attaching the support article for the same.

V6: Supported web browsers

This article explains which browser is supported for the HTML5 or Version 6.

Google Chrome.Firefox.Safari for Mac(version 10 and above)InternetExplorer (version 11)Windows 10Microsoft Edge.

Please Note: We have observed that, you have created the pages using the Responsive feature in Beta version. This means it is still being tested and developed. In the future, we may make changes to the software that could affect any pages you create during the beta stage, so please bear this in mind when using responsive pages.

To avoid any discrepancy, we recommend you to upgrade to the new Responsive edition instead.

Our latest Responsive editor! It has a very intuitive, user-friendly interface. Your website will look perfectly on any device, be it a smartphone, laptop, desktop. Moreover, it is Responsive.

You can explore our feature list below - beautiful galleries and advanced forms, custom domains and powerful integration and more.

Please let us know your thoughts.

Thanks, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Could you please try in google chrome browser, We guess it might be because of the new browser, If still you are facing the issue in another browser we will send the issue to the next higher leveel and will escalate it.

Thank you

Already done all 3, it does not show the dropdown on the latest version of puffin browser on a ipad

Rgds Keef

It just shows a square where the dropdown should be and doesn’t let you hover over it
